The Lochaber area has a very good choice of places to stay while visiting here. You can stay in the main town Fort William, or one of the many smaller villages. There are places in the mountains or places by the sea, or by the shores of a loch. We even have places in forests and woodlands in quiet country settings.

To be honest, the whole of Lochaber provides a quiet peaceful option from a bustling, noisy city.

For convenience, Lochaber is divided up into five areas with Fort William being the main centre.

You can click the buttons opposite to see what is available in each of the five areas. Some of the accommodation providers have display information with links to their own websites.

Our local Visitor Information Centre, which is called HOST, provides an accommodation booking service for a small charge, if you'd like them to do the recommending...

Most of the accommodation in Fort William and Lochaber is graded for facilities by the Scottish Tourist Board, which awards a star rating to participating members. We hope to publish details of the grading scheme online soon... In the meantime, you can always contact HOST by email and ask for a brochure or ask the accommodation provider when you are enquiring.

It's a very good idea to base yourself in the same place for a few days - this way you get to relax without unpacking and repacking every day. Some businesses offer a discount if you stay with them for more than 2 nights.
